December 2023 Honoree
Stacy Lau-Snow, BSN, RN
My son was recently diagnosed with a pituitary lesion. To get to the point of diagnosis though, we were referred to the Inova Neurosurgery. Honestly speaking, the thought of trying to navigate a large health system…plus hearing/seeing cyst in the brain on reports- was completely overwhelming. As the first step, I called the number I was provided…then was told someone would have to call me back. As soon as I heard those words “someone will call you back”- I thought to myself “and so it begins- you’re never going to get a call back and buckle in for getting the run around when I do call back.” To my surprise, Stacy Lau-Snow (RN) reached out and was the calming, supportive voice I needed. Not only was she able to get our son scheduled without delay…when we had a scheduling conflict arise- she patiently worked with us to resolve it. When our referring Pediatric Endocrinologist needed to consult with a provider on the Neurosurgery team urgently about our son, Stacy made the connection happen within an hour. When I needed guidance relative to future appointments, Stacy provided it. What makes these examples so compelling is that each time I engaged with Stacy- I never felt rushed or as though I was burdening her with all my questions/requests for help. She was and continues to be a very responsive, supportive, and compassionate person, helping guide us through getting appropriate care for our son.
Thank you, Stacy, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
