Stacy stayed by my side and let me squeeze her hand if I needed to. She helped me not feel alone throughout a scary uncomfortable and little bit painful procedure.
I came into the ER due to heavy bleeding and pain just two days after finding out I was pregnant. I was very uncomfortable being treated in the ER for an emergency involving such a private area which is humiliating enough at OBGYN where the docs and nurses choose to specialize in the field. I was also in a log of pain and blood had soaked through my pants and a blanket I was sitting on when I arrived.
Stacy helped me get comfortable right away. She gave me wipes to clean up with and several options of undergarments to choose from. She immediately brought me warm blankets and got me settled. She gave me nausea meds and then pain meds shortly after. She kept me informed of everything that was going on and made me feel like I was her only patient to take care of all day - which I know is not the case.
Above all, I came into the ER alone; because of family circumstances I really had no support for my situation. During my procedure with the three OBGYN doctors, Stacy stayed by my side and let me squeeze her hand if I needed to. She helped me not feel alone throughout a scary uncomfortable and little bit painful procedure. I was very thirsty since I was in the ER but was not allowed to drink until after the procedure. She remembered without me even asking her and got me a cup of ice and Sprite as soon as it was okay. She made sure to get my pain med as soon as the docs were done and brought me everything I might need to get cleaned up and comfy so that I could go home. Even some warm comfy sweatpants to wear home! Stacy was the best nurse I have ever had - and made a very horrible situation more comfortable than I would ever expect.
