The keen assessment skills that Stacy has developed over many years of nursing really came through as she quite literally saved her patient's life! Her anterior cervical fusion patient was experiencing an increase in extreme pain, changes in vital signs, and marked swelling at his neck. She managed to catch a severe bleed that would have compromised the patient's airway enough that intubation would not have been possible. Thanks to Stacy's watchful and attentive care, the patient was taken to emergency surgery and ended up with a positive outcome. The patient, his wife, and I are beyond thankful!
