She is always calm and reassuring to the patient and it is evidenced by her interactions with the patient at the bedside.
Stacy is 100% hands down a fantastic nurse. Stacy is a wonderful patient advocate, and her compassion at the bedside is unparallel. As a wound care RN, she goes above and beyond her role as a wound nurse by helping the floor staff out with her patients (far beyond a wound/ostomy) when she is here.

We have a patient who requires extensive/time-consuming dressing changes and she was in communication with me all day yesterday about her updates with the surgeon regarding the status of wounds. She keeps the team communication open by adding me into the Alert MD communication she has. Yesterday, Stacy called me to let me know that if I was unable to change his dressings, she would come back at the end of her shift to help me, as she knew it was a two-person job. Not only did she come back, but the patient was in the chair, and she offered to stay and assist us in getting him back to bed. Although her shift was over, she stayed to help us get him back to bed and situated. She then changed his dressings too. Regardless of how busy her schedule was, she made all the time needed to assist us and the patient.

She is always calm and reassuring to the patient and it is evidenced by her interactions with the patient at the bedside. Stacy knew I was busy handling another situation and the PCT was not available. Stacy noticed an occupational therapist leaving another room. She took it upon herself to ask if he would be willing to assist her in getting the patient back in bed. Stacy always communicates with me regarding the wounds and informs me of any changes she makes.

We are so fortunate to have such a smart and caring nurse as a part of the wound care team! Stacy is always educating me and teaching me new things about wounds, which sharpens my practice regarding wounds/ostomies. Stacy never hesitates to answer questions about ostomy/skin issues of patients who are not even being seen by wound care too. She helps all of us troubleshoot difficult situations. No matter how busy Stacy is, she makes time for us and her patients. For these reasons, I believe Stacy is the perfect nurse to be recognized with a DAISY Award.
