Stacy was my husband's nurse the 1st day of his chemo; she was very knowledgeable. She made it a point to find him every day he had chemo, visit and ask me how I was doing. She has got what it takes in every area of her entire being to be a perfect nurse in her department. All the girls in that unit are totally awesome, but Stacy is a very special nurse. On the last day of his chemo, Stacy had the day off to prepare for the mission trip she was going on, a ton of stuff to get ready and she came up to the Cancer Center and stay and visited with my husband and me the whole time he got his treatment. Now that is over and above her normal duties; that is why I think she deserves the DAISY Award.

...

I was diagnosed with Adenocarcinoma. At first the doctors thought it was operable. I had a surgical consult, and scheduled surgery. Surgeon went in and could not remove it. Referred back to chemo and radiation and doctors recommended both. Needless to say after a failed surgery attempt I was not too optimistic about the outcome. To be honest, I was scared and very overwhelmed by it all; at the age of 54 I thought my life was over.

I came into the Cancer Care Institute for my first day of treatment, although my doctors were very informative and answered all of my concerns, I still had questions popping into my head on a daily, in not hourly, basis. The psychological impact of this is unbelievable. I was called back and there I was greeted by Stacy.

She was very friendly and we got started. From the very first minute she was very informative, explaining every step of the chemo process, the potential side effects and at the same time reassuring me of the potential outcome. I truly believe God put her in my life in this time of need for a reason.

She answered all of my questions. I was very impressed by her professional approach; I have never come across someone so passionate about making sure I was comfortable during my treatment.
When I left that day, I went from being scared to optimistic about a cure because of this nurse!

Treatments continued and even if she was busy with another patient, Stacy would stop in and ask how I was doing, if I needed anything, and would tell me that I can get through this. Chemotherapy went on and without fail, she was there for me.

On my last day, I hoped she would be there for the ringing of the bell. She had such an impact on my treatment that it just wouldn't be the same without her there. I arrived at the Center and was told she had the day off. I was disappointed but remembered that this "Super Nurse" has a life and needs time off like everyone else. I am sitting in the waiting area for my name to be called and she walks in, but not dressed for work and tells me she rearranged her schedule so she could be with me on my last day and the bell ringing. She came in the room and sat with me all day!

Now look people, this woman is unbelievable. To be considered for this award she must be compassionate, kind & sincere, trustworthy, passionate and caring. Stacy has all of these and many, many more. My wife and I were very impressed with her. She is such an asset to that department that if she is not considered for this award it will be a crime. I truly believe that I am not the only one that she has impacted and won't be the last.

Everyone involved in my treatment was very professional and caring, but your "Super Nurse" went over and above. Please on behalf of my family and me, consider her for this award, she, if anyone, deserves it.

...

From day one of my 6 chemo treatments, there is one thing I'm eternally sure of, Stacie Tomlinson is one special person that will forever be in my heart and prayers.

Stacie is compassionate, kind, sincere, passionate, trustworthy and very caring beyond the call of her job as oncology nurse.

The impression she left on my heart is ever lasting.

Aside from all of her obvious traits, she has a good sense of humor - who else could make you laugh through chemo, but Stacie, my friend, the best chemo nurse on the planet.
