Stan Hall is commended for his dedication to patient safety. He exemplifies Nursing Excellence in all he does. He came to present to the Nursing Executive Committee "Rapid Response Concerns" on behalf of the team. During his professional discussion of clinical concerns, it was clear that this dedicated RN embodies the vision of Desert Regional Medical Center. Advocating for patient safety, he was open and clear regarding process issues he has encountered as a part of the rapid response process.
Last weekend, Stan stayed with a patient for over 2 hours on the Acute Rehab Unit needing to be transferred to DRMC for a higher level of care. He encountered difficulty in the transfer process from ARU to acute DRMC. Despite challenges, he persevered until the patient had an accepting physician and transferred into ICU. The NEC group was able to openly discuss barriers encountered in the Rapid Response role and provide further guidance. Oftentimes employees will complain and never speak up. He came in, on his day off, with a sole purpose of improving processes to help our patients.
