Our mom was in the ICU for several days due to a lung infection and perforated ulcer. While all the ICU nurses were wonderful; Mom, my sisters, and I especially appreciated Stefanie.
She was warm and compassionate. Her smile and cheerful disposition really helped all of us in this difficult situation. Her attentiveness and willingness to listen and explain everything including answering our hundreds of questions, made everything so much better.
Most importantly, perhaps, was the way she spoke to our mom almost as a friend. Stefanie didn't patronize Mom or talk down to her. As our mom was already in a vulnerable situation having Stefanie talk to her as an intelligent person with a detailed explanation of things was very reassuring.
Stefanie always behaved as though she had all the time in the world to spend with our mom, so Mom felt exceptionally well cared for.
