Stef Gottula quietly and consistently goes above and beyond for her patients and families. Recently one of her patients passed away unexpectedly. Stef was a huge support for the family and her peers. She set up a meal train for the family and arranged equipment pick-up. She even went to the home so the family would not have to be present. She also opened her home to her peers so that they could grieve together as a team.
Stef was an integral part of coordinating a successful transition home for a new patient. She helped the parents set up the room, arranging equipment and supplies for efficiency. Shortly after the patient was home and settled, one of the patient's parents experienced a medical emergency and was hospitalized. Stef volunteered to work extra shifts in the home to help. She then worked alongside the family to help coordinate appointments, transportation, and nursing care.
Stef is always willing to go the extra mile in any situation that may arise. She exemplifies the mission of Children's and always strives to give the best patient experience. Stef would say she is just doing her job, but her patients and families tell us she does so much more.
