She was patient-centered and made you feel as though you were a friend and not just another name on a whiteboard.
Stephanie went above and beyond to make our experience wonderful. I was in for an induction due to having pemphigoid gestationis and many of the nurses hadn't heard of this since it's rare. She took the time to do research, see if we wanted to try different things to help my comfort level, and even inform all the other nurses that might work with me what the rash was and how it made me feel. We were lucky enough to have her for two nights and she made us feel as if we were her only patient. All the staff were amazing but she will forever hold a special spot in our hearts when we remember our daughter's delivery experiences.
Stephanie went above and beyond by researching my rash, pemphigoid gestationis, which impacts 1 in 50,000 as many of the nurses haven't witnessed a case and there isn't a lot of information out there. She printed off information to leave in the break room for the other nurses and shared information with her peers to ensure any nurses who worked with us knew about it. She even came in with different ideas to try and asked questions about what worked or hadn't worked to help my comfort level. She even helped at night with lactation questions, swaddling, and anything else we needed.
Stephanie made us feel cared for and respected our entire stay. She worked to inform other nurses and keep everyone in the loop. She always made sure my water was filled, if I wanted snacks, or to walk around. She even checked if I wanted a cool compress for my rash or even a cool bath to help the heat or itching. This was all over a night shift as well which for a new mom who is wide awake it was great to not feel lonely.
There wasn't a single thing that she could have done differently to make our stay better. Stephanie, along with all the labor and delivery staff made the experience stress-free and amazing. Her leadership and attentiveness to my care and my child's care were excellent. As stated above she took my care into her own hands and went above and beyond to ensure my stay was great and I was comfortable. She was patient-centered and made you feel as though you were a friend and not just another name on a whiteboard.
