The nurse team on the 4th floor, which treats Stem Cell & CAR-T therapy patients in the ICU, is some of the most dedicated, intelligent, and compassionate people I have ever met. I began writing nominations for individual nurses but realized I would need to write dozens in a brief time, while in town, but nonetheless wanted to recognize the exceptional team on the 4th floor as a whole because every nurse and the entire staff made a huge impact on my father's health.
From the kind person who would help keep his room sanitized 2x a day to those bringing food, physical therapists, social work, basically each person directly involved in his case operated at such a level of excellence that we were amazed and wonder-struck. The nurses, in particular, managed my father's care with grace. Soon after the infusion my dad experienced for the side effects from treatment including seizures, nausea, disorientation, slurred speech the side effects were shocking but very destabilizing for the patient himself. The courageous and compassionate team of nurses guided him and the family through this uncertain time with brilliant insights and knowledge about the treatment. This kindness, combined with high-level intelligence and humility, is a rare and striking collection of qualities to see, even more remarkable in each member of the staff.
