I had the privilege of being in your hospital. You have a wonderful institution, great physicians, wide availability and services. Your doctors are well trained, capable, the equipment modern an up to date.
The heart of your greatness is your nursing staff. Patty is amazing, along with Dora, Shelby, Shannon, etc. These are dedicated well trained clinicians with a deep commitment to patient care. Shannon is a great asset to this town, providing services to our community beyond our size. This asset is mostly our nurses.

Earlier this year, there was a fire in a patient room. The staff responded promptly to a chair alarm going off, as they got close to the room they noticed smoke billowing out of the room. Lori and Patricia immediately got the patient out of the room and attended to her while Michael Morales was quick to grab the fire extinguisher and put the fire out. Rosie Capers was quick to pull the fire alarm and call security. Dora Gonzales and Beverly Strain were quick to move patients from surrounding rooms down the hall to avoid smoke inhalation. Monica Strebeck who was charging had a plan of who could move to a different floor and also called engineering to open patient's window to ventilate the room. The incident happened and was extinguished in a matter of minutes due to everyone working as a team and staying calm and controlling the situation. The 4 North staff truly kept a bad situation from getting worse.
