Stephanie and I have been coworkers for approximately the last 12 years. I've watched Stephanie turn the fear of many patients into courage. Many patients are afraid of having surgery because of not knowing what to expect, but during the pre-admission phase, Stephanie seems to erase all fear and make them feel at ease. She has a way of turning what could possibly become a bad situation into a good situation.
I myself have had issues with my blood pressure and I must admit that I was very nervous. Before my doctor's visit, I went to Stephanie to ask for advice. After talking with her I felt much better about my situation and when I went for my follow-up with my doctor, everything that happened was exactly what she told me to expect. I feel that Stephanie upholds her duty as a nurse not only at work but also when not at work. She is a great asset to this hospital. Her care and compassion for people show in all she does, on and off the job.
