She treats all of our patients and staff with respect. She is never judgmental. She always has the best interests of the CCU in mind as she guides us through her own actions. She encourages staff with kindness to be better versions of themselves.
Being the manager of CCU during peak times of the COIVD-19 pandemic is not a role easily managed. Stephanie stepped up in times of need and went above and beyond her role worked many night shifts and helped provide care to patients, coordinated staffing, and worked to ensure that support was available in whatever form. While there was no ideal solution to all of the issues faced, Stephanie was instrumental in maintaining the semi-normal operations of the unit. Her collaboration with upper leadership and bedside staff helped with the flow of care and rapidly addressing problems that occurred. Additionally, Stephanie continues to promote evidence-based practice and has helped facilitate bedside nurses' re-engagement with their "why" and clinical inquiry. We are so blessed to have such a supportive accountable and passionate manager.

I have worked at Carroll Hospital for about 17 years and Stephanie is the best manager I have had in CCU by far. She was a phenomenal bedside nurse and she has transitioned into a fantastic leader for the CCU. Stephanie treats her employees like we are more than "just a number". She values our thoughts and opinions. She cares about us as people and encourages a healthy work/life balance. She recognizes the stressful nature of caring for patients. Knowing that, she encourages us to make self-care a priority and is always brainstorming ideas to promote self-care. Stephanie transitioned into the role of CCU manager and had to jump into a unit renovation/move that was already in the works. She coordinated the transfer of mostly all CCU patients including COVID patients on ventilators.
Most notably, soon after her transition, COVID-19 hit. It has been during the COVID-19 pandemic that I have come to admire Stephanie the most. CCU was stretched incredibly thin during the pandemic. Stephanie was available to support her staff on CCU 24/7. She came in on nights and weekends and took groups of patients when the unit was short-staffed. The number of times she did this, often with very little notice, was too numerous to count. I really do not have the appropriate words to express how much it meant for my manager to work beside me on the frontlines when the unit was in crisis. Stephanie is a fantastic example of what a leader should be, trustworthy, uplifting, supportive, and should be recognized for the positive impact she has had on CCU.

Stephanie is not only an invaluable resource to our unit, but she is also a caring leader who consistently demonstrates excellence when it comes to patient care. I joined the CCU as a patient care technician just after the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. As a supplemental PCT, I was sent to work in CCU one night and that is where I first met Stephanie. She had come in to assist her staff after working all day. The CCU RNs were short-staffed and overwhelmed by the swell of COVID-19 patients. I was so impressed by this dedicated act of leadership that shortly after I made the transfer to the CCU. I have been here for the past two years. Throughout the course of the last two years, I have worked side by side with my manager more times than I can count. She is the first to volunteer her time and her skills, whenever there is a need on the unit and she does it with a wonderfully uplifting attitude.
As a manager, Stephanie cares about each member of her team. She is happy to sit down and talk out every problem and she doesn't treat anyone on her staff as if they don't matter. I can share from my personal experience that Stephanie encourages employees to use their EAP benefits and that she takes a vested interest in their personal growth as well as their mental fortitude. Stephanie has a positive impact on every part of the CCU, from each teammate to each policy put in place. I am happy to nominate my manager for this award because she is more than deserving. She works side by side with RNs, PCTs, doctors, and respiratory therapists to save lives even in the worst conditions. She is an uplifting and motivating presence on the unit. Stephanie demonstrates every day that a true leader is professional, trustworthy, compassionate, respectful, and extraordinary and she should be celebrated as a DAISY Nurse Leader.

Stephanie is an amazing, great leader here at Carroll Hospital. She is approachable, accountable, and a great team player. During the COVID surge, on numerous occasions, she would work during the day, but came in overnight as well to PCC or take a group of patients. Stephanie was very patient, understanding, and supportive of me when I struggled to determine what change I was looking for in my career. She was patient and kind while I rationalized what was best for me. When I decided to make my transition back to CCU, Stephanie was so incredibly supportive which I truly needed.
As a leader, I feel Stephanie is always available. No matter what time of the day, she is quick to respond. She always will get you an answer and follow up with you. Stephanie cares so much about her team. She is consistently trying to improve morale within the unit, especially during the pandemic. She promotes teamwork and is always pushing for respect among staff. She supplies snacks to the unit and is always looking for ideas to build up the spirits of her team. "Please, Stephanie, never leave CCU - YOU ARE WONDERFUL!"

I worked with Stephanie for many years prior to her role as nurse manager. I have great respect for her knowledge and experience. Of special note is the sensitive and altruistic manner in which she treats her patients. Stephanie's transition to her role as manager seemed natural as she stood out as an informal leader in the CCU. Stephanie is a role model for all RNs in our unit, both experienced and novice alike. She treats all of our patients and staff with respect. She is never judgmental. She always has the best interests of the CCU in mind as she guides us through her own actions. She encourages staff with kindness to be better versions of themselves. She has also been working hard to develop herself as a manager while guiding others in their nursing roles in the CCU. She always has time to listen and encourage.
Stephanie has had the additional challenge of taking on this role during the pandemic. There were many times that I can recall seeing Stephanie taking on a patient load. She would maintain her responsibilities as nurse manager and return to the night shift to provide care for high-acuity patients in our CCU. She didn't complain but would just do what needed to be done. Despite the very difficult times, she was able to maintain a positive outlook and motivate staff to do their very best even when we all felt the stress and often despair of our difficult situation in our CCU. Many of our patients suffered and died during this time. Stephanie helped to encourage us to do our best.
Stephanie is a great example of someone who promotes a positive image of nursing. She makes you want to become a better nurse. She does many special things for staff such as providing a constant supply of snacks in our breakroom. She keeps us updated through emails and gets back to staff promptly when they have concerns. She has been working hard to hire staff to keep our unit running with appropriately trained staff. Stephanie has worked hard to keep her staffing at a safe level so that we can provide the best nursing care. She deserves to be celebrated as a DAISY Nurse Leader.

Stephanie is a great leader. I have not worked in CCU for very long to get to know her fully, but she welcomed me with open arms. She has been very supportive, enthusiastic, and willing to help me learn as I transition from a nurse intern to a new grad RN. During my time I have seen her support her staff by jumping in to help and always lending her time, empathy, and support. She has been a great manager to work under.
