I can’t think of a more deserving nurse leader than Stephanie Braulick from Mental Health Services. As the other managers in our department, I have worked closely with Stephanie for almost three years.  As I was coming into my new job at ANW, Steph was unexpectedly transitioning out to have her second baby – a week early. She had a comprehensive list of orientation topics ready to go, so at least I had a jumping-off point. During the time I‘ve known Steph, she has balanced work, a new baby, a preschooler with medical needs, and family life with grace, humor, and little sass.  

Steph is such a strong, compassionate leader. She is pleasant and cheerful, welcoming, and always looks at the bright side. When she arrives each day, she greets everyone with a smile and encourages the whole team. 

Some of Steph’s other leadership skills are knowledge, advocacy, and efficiency. It seems she can do ten things at once and do them well. Her email in-box is always empty. She looks ahead thinks abroad and plans ahead. Steph advocates for patients, knows the population well and shares her knowledge literally. 

She is every genuine, has an open heart and is perfectly willing to share the success and not-so-good times.
