Stephanie Bock, RN, and Tomasz Palasiewicz, BSN, RN, both from 6JC, were nominated by the daughter of a patient who underwent brain surgery. In her nomination, she wrote:
Stephanie cares, Stephanie listens, and Stephanie follows up. She is also intuitive about our father's needs. Our dad was brought to 6JC after brain surgery at the age of 86. She quickly noticed his gradual swelling during the day, his new sounds of congestion and continued lethargy and confusion. Her quick assessment of his changes in his first 24 hours on 6JC was crucial for the change in his meds. Her follow-up on each and every request was quick, even with her obviously full schedule. Her teamwork with Tomasz was smooth.
The transition from her shift to Tomasz's was effortless. He was brilliant in handling our dad, who was extremely difficult and needed restraints at night. I am nominating the most caring team of two nurses that I have watched work, and I am no stranger to hospitals. These are two of the most caring, attentive nurses that I have seen. Thank you for putting my dad in their care.
