While I was in the Good Samaritan Emergency Room, I was told that I would have to have my great toe amputated. I was shocked and upset of course. I was moved from the Emergency Department to the Second Floor (Surgical Unit) where I first met Stephanie.
Stephanie was my nurse for three days. She always knew exactly what to say and how to approach me. I believe that there is education that a nurse gets from formal training - this is very important. In addition, a nurse like Stephanie has an intuitiveness that guides her to being an exceptional nurse. It’s something that I cannot quite explain but it was a gift to me as I needed to receive an extra bit of care.
