My elderly mother was in the progressive care unit. This nurse was the admitting nurse. I wasn’t there at the time, but my sister was and she told me how kind and compassionate this nurse was. This nurse came back on duty days later when I was with my mom and I saw her for myself. This nurse called me by name – remembering a family member’s name means a lot! This nurse treated my mother with great respect and compassion, creatively working around my mom’s disabilities (nearly blind & deaf). She engaged with my mom, clearly explaining everything she was doing. Sunday afternoon, Mom was transferred to a regular room on the 6th floor where she passed away on Monday. I am grateful Mom had such great care in her last days. Thank you.
