Stephanie Degroot, RN

I just witnessed Stephanie talk to a suicidal person who called into the ER through the process of getting here safely. She kept him talking on the phone while another nurse called 911 to arrange a ride for him. She managed a three-way call between herself, the patient, and the patient's wife while providing information to another nurse, who was on the phone with 911. She remained calm and collected (regardless of how she may have been feeling inside) and managed the situation professionally and compassionately. She played a huge part in saving this person's life. While she would never say that herself, I know it to be true. She is the right person for the charge nurse position. I realized it at this moment.
