I had a surgical procedure and had the best pre-op nurse, Stephanie. Stephanie took great care in creating a relaxing environment with her calm and reassuring demeanor. Stephanie had excellent IV skills, getting a great line placed in a very comfortable spot in my hand. Stephanie and I did some drug reviews together, which served as a wonderful distraction for me. As a nurse, I often fear the worst, given my experience in healthcare, and having Stephanie as such a caring preop nurse helped alleviate fears and create a sense of confidence in the preop and entire surgical team. As preop is the first “touchpoint” in the surgical patient experience—KP San Rafael patients are so lucky to be part of her wonderful patient experience!
