Stephanie is the nurse you want caring for you in the hospital. Through her weekly clinical reflections during her immersion rotation, it is apparent that she cares deeply for her patients and wants to provide the best care possible. She has even self-reflected regarding the care she provides, such as having her patients feel she is treating them like humans and not a medical record number or task to complete. During her shift one day, the family of her patient was not happy with the care provided by the previous nurse, but when Stephanie came on shift, she was able to listen to the family's concerns, which ameliorated the situation, and the family praised her for providing such great care. She is thorough in her assessments and has identified findings that were not previously charted or given in handoff report. During the time I was able to observe her during simulation, she advocated for her patient(s) and was excellent with her therapeutic communication.
