She showed great compassion. I do not know what I would have done if Stephanie had not been his nurse.
Stephanie has been an awesome nurse in the ICU for going on 2 years now. She is a strong patient advocate and always shows compassion to her patients and families. One of her patient's family members nominated her for the DAISY Award and below is what they had to say about Stephanie:
"My husband was assigned to ICU at High Point Medical Center for five days. Stephanie was assigned to my husband for three days and what a godsend she was for both my husband and me.
My husband became very depressed and Stephanie was there for me when I did not know what to do. She informed Dr. B of the situation. Stephanie talked to my husband until he made a complete turnaround mentally. She showed great compassion. I do not know what I would have done if Stephanie had not been his nurse. She would feed him and was constantly checking on him. Each of his nurses made you feel you had met a new friend and they really loved what they were doing. I cannot praise Stephanie enough knowing she was there for both my husband and me."
Stephanie goes above and beyond to be compassionate and patient-centered with all of her patients and families. This is a wonderful honor for an exceptional recipient! Congratulations to Stephanie - our first ICU DAISY Award recipient.
