Stephanie Dorman’s fortitude and willingness were amazing and a true blessing to me. I was the fortunate person that night to be on the receiving end of her stellar performance as a nurse.
I entered the ER after 8:00 PM. I had hip replacement surgery at another facility the day before. They discharged me and I came home from the hospital. I became ill at home. I had severe nausea and felt very faint. I also, had severe pain in my leg from surgery. When I arrived at the ER, Stephanie Dorman was my nurse. I am sure God had his hand on the situation because from the minute she came on my case until I left the ER she stayed with me. First, I have to commend her compassion, but never swaying from her professionalism. She realized quickly after hooking me to monitors my blood pressure was very low and I was severely dehydrated. Stephanie worked with me till about 5:00 AM never losing her caring attitude or showing any type of frustration. Her calmness helped me a great deal as I was scared and unsure of what was happening to me. There was no end to the strategies she used to help me get comfortable. If one thing did not work, she quickly suggested I try something else. Again, NEVER losing patience with me or showing anything but kindness and determination to help me. I am sure she could have screamed or left the room at times, but she remained in control and worked diligently. Actually, I can never adequately thank Stephanie for her hard work, dedication, and perseverance. Stephanie Dorman’s fortitude and willingness were amazing and a true blessing to me. I was the fortunate person that night to be on the receiving end of her stellar performance as a nurse. There is no question she goes way beyond the call of duty to help her patients. I also want to thank the entire ER department for the care I received. There were other nurses helping continuously.
