Stephanie knew that I was not okay, so she did what she does best. She comforted me. She held my hand and talked me through things.
From the minute Stephanie walked into the room I felt a calming presence. I’m a 36-year-old mother of 3 very young girls and I was terrified. I was just told I was septic, and my blood work wasn’t looking too good. Stephanie immediately calmed me down. She started asking about my family and wanted to see pictures of my girls. That meant so much to me because I felt like she truly cared about me.

After being in the ICU for a day, my headache and neck pain had become so severe it was difficult to move my neck at all. I was told that I needed a CT of my head and a Spinal Tap to check for meningitis. I was not okay when I heard all that. Stephanie knew that I was not okay, so she did what she does best. She comforted me. She held my hand and talked me through things. She went with me to my CT, and we just talked. I can’t remember what we talked about, but she kept my mind off of real life.

Now when she went with me for the Spinal Tap is where I got really teary-eyed. I was so scared and in so much pain. But she was there for me. She held my hand and kept telling me how great I was doing constantly. I really would not have been that calm if she wasn’t there. It just showed me how compassionate she really is and how much she truly cares for her patients. She also listened to every single thing I had to say. I told her every symptom I was having, and she made a note of it to tell the doctor. She even had to chase him down one time because my headache had gotten better once I stood up. It happened right after the doctor left, so she got me situated and then left to hurry and tell the doctor. She also celebrated with me and hugged me and told me how proud she was that my pain had subsided. Stephanie just really helped me through probably the hardest thing I’ve gone through so far in my life and I will be forever grateful. Thank You.
