There are numerous examples of Steph's amazing care above and beyond expectations, but just to offer a couple of examples... when one patient arrived early for their appointment and had anxiety about the procedure that was planned, Steph personally took the couple to the cafeteria and bought them lunch to help calm their nerves. She stays late to help with preauthorizations so patients can start treatment faster and have less anxiety. She will walk patients to other departments, the lab, or the ED as needed to make sure they get where they are going and feel confident about what's next. Steph knows the institution and the EMR so well that she can help the department in ways we didn't even know were possible, especially by interacting with our colleagues in medical oncology, the research office, and with EMR paperwork. Steph just cares for patients with love and competence and works every day going above and beyond what anyone could expect because, to her, it's just the baseline of why she signed up to be a nurse in the first place.
