A patient and co-worker both nominated Stephanie, an RN on SICU, for going above and beyond after a mother had an emergency C-section and her baby was transferred to Beaumont - Royal Oak for treatment. Because of serious complications, the patient required constant treatment and couldn't immediately be with her newborn. During this difficult time, Stephanie devotedly supported the mother by making sure all her needs were met and her questions were answered. Additionally, she regularly checked on her outside of regular working hours and helped her learn to use a breast pump.
