I would like to recognize Stephanie for being an outstanding nurse, keeping her word to our patients, along with her compassion. Recently, I was coming on for a night shift and Stephanie had worked days. Stephanie had a patient whom she told would be able to have a shower at 7:00 PM, after Stephanie received the doctor’s okay. 7:00 PM came and went and Stephanie saw how busy I was as the aid coming on. Stephanie recruited the oncoming RN for that patient and the two of them went to work getting the patient her promised shower. Stephanie had already worked a busy 12-hour shift. Stephanie’s compassion and dedication are just one example of the kind of nurse Stephanie is. She goes the extra step. Stephanie genuinely cares about Aurora’s patients, her patients.

Stephanie, having been an aid herself knows a shower does wonders for a patient who cannot shower on her own. I was so touched and grateful and impressed by Stephanie’s initiative to make sure the patient was taken care of. Stephanie stayed after her shift and made sure the patient had a full shower, and her hair was washed. Not only did Stephanie keep her word to a now very happy and satisfied patient, but she also went way up and above to help a fellow employee. She is a wonderful coworker, an excellent nurse, and in general, a truly compassionate human that goes out of her way to make sure every one of her patients is cared for and very well taken care of. Stephanie is a real team player who cares.
