Stephanie
Keefe
,
RN
Care Coordination
St. Joseph's Hospitals and South Florida Baptist Hospital
There has been a weight lifted off the unit's shoulders since Stephanie has started working with us, and it feels like a smooth-running team again.
It is the consensus of everyone who knows Stephanie that she is the definition of a DAISY nurse. She consistently goes above and beyond for patients and shows endless compassion for everyone, nurses, and patients alike. She stays late after her shift is over to ensure patients have everything they need and that they are safely discharged.
Stephanie is always a delight and brings so much positivity and light into our unit. It makes everyone feel a sense of comfort just knowing that she is here, she truly warms our hearts. Especially over the last few months with COVID-19 and work circumstances being horrid, she has brightened our lives and given us hope.
Many of her coworkers have talked about nominating her for this special award and hoped that we could include their comments below:
"I have never seen a case manager care so much for everyone around her and the patients she works with. Her communication is awesome. One of my favorite things about Stephanie is how she advocates for the patients. I have learned so much from her and have never seen someone be such a strong advocate for a patient. She is such a positive person that makes everyone feel special. We are so unbelievably lucky to have her as our case manager."
"Stephanie has been a breath of fresh air for our unit. She is very caring and is great with patients and team members. Every day she starts by telling us it is going to be a great day. She is easy to talk to about issues and always tries to resolve the issue and often stays to make sure the issue is resolved. She does not just pack up at the end of her shift and leave. She checks in with us and stays late most days. Stephanie is always patient, calm, and supportive."
"Stephanie is friendly, warm, kind, caring, and overall a pleasure to work with. She does whatever it takes to get things done (the right way), taking any task thrown at her and following it through to the end. She never lets frustrations she may have shown affect her attitude."
"We have not had the best luck with case managers on our unit and went a while without having an assigned case manager. When Stephanie was assigned to us, I was excited after working on weekends with her. She is a ball of energy, always positive (even when dealing with difficult patients), keeps a smile on her face, and promotes us working as a team. We can take her a small or large issue and she knows what we need to do or finds out what we need to do. Stephanie is an excellent communicator always keeping nurses informed. There has been a weight lifted off the unit's shoulders since she has started working with us, and it feels like a smooth-running team again. We love her! Thank you, for being you and a source of positivity even when the day feels like nothing positive is going to happen".
