Stephanie L Velasquez, RN Cert

On behalf of our unit, we want to thank Stephanie Velasquez for her everyday dedication to our unit. As well as the above and beyond steps Stephanie takes to ensure our unit and our patients are taken care of to the best of our ability. Stephanie was instrumental in creating a thoughtful workflow that is nurse and patient friendly when our EPIC system was down for an extended period of time. Stephanie continues her efforts in downtime work by participating in committees and providing valuable information that is both user friendly and patient centered. In addition to this, Stephanie is always willing to participate in our Unit Based Council activities and has had some wonderful ideas that we have implemented to enhance our work environment. Stephanie is also a wonderful charge nurse with excellent leadership skills. Her ability to teach is remarkable…all with a calm demeanor and a smile on her face regardless of the situation. Stephanie is a strong patient advocate, believes in the art of medicine and is definitely a nurse to be proud of and someone we would love to care for our family as well as a RockStar of a coworker! In addition to all of the above, Stephanie is also a hero in our community…She recently was driving, witnessed a cardiac arrest on the side of the road, pulled over with her kids in the car and provided CPR to the patient. Stephanie is a hero in and out of the hospital! Our admiration for Stephanie is beyond what can be expressed with words. We are proudly nominating Stephanie Velasquez for a DAISY Award!
