May 2019 Honoree
stephanie landis, RN, BSN
Stephanie was our overnight nurse for our twins during our two-week stay in the NICU. From the first time, we met her she was very personable. She took the time to talk to us and build a connection so that we felt comfortable right from the start.
Our first few days in the NICU were so stressful and scary, but Stephanie was always reassuring us that everything would be okay. She cared for our babies as if they were her own. We witnessed her compassion and love for her job every time she entered the room. She always had positive energy.
We cried the first night that we didn't sleep at the hospital, but once again Stephanie reminded us that we can call and check on them throughout the night. We trusted that they were in great hands with her.
On one of our last nights in the NICU, Stephanie surprised us with handmade wooden signs for our babies' nursery that we will cherish forever. The fact that she was still thinking about us and our babies while she was away from her job really shows her compassion and character.
