Stephanie Lewis 2023, RN

Stephanie Lewis came in tonight to take report for the night shift. She was assigned two patients; another nurse (F) was assigned 3. There was no question that ICU 9 was the sickest / most involved patient in the unit. One of F’s other two was a patient who was very needy. F never complained, but Stephanie noticed that F seemed a little overwhelmed. She told me, let me take report on ICU 6 (the needy patient) and I’ll take 3 tonight. You could see the relief fall over F as her shoulders could rest a little easier. Stephanie stepped up, was a team player, and did not only what was best for acuity and patient care but also was a team player and great rapport builder tonight. She was willing to increase her workload to 150% to help take something off her coworker’s plate. You won't find many people like that, she deserves to be noticed.
