We would like to nominate our unsung Nursing Hero, Stephanie. Stephanie's guidance and knowledge help make our rehab program one of the best in the country. Her professionalism in all situations leaves you feeling validated, valued, heard, and important. She inspires excellence and does a wonderful job of supporting all of her peers. Here's to her amazing journey, which has spanned decades, and the truly invaluable impact she's made. Here's a spotlight on the person who makes our rehab world so bright.

Physicians: Stephanie is an incredible asset to Gillette and the inpatient rehabilitation unit, and I am so grateful to have the opportunity to work with her on the rehab team. She is the quintessential team player, with knowledge and experience to take on the big tasks and the humility to take on the small ones. She is reliable and consistent as anyone I've worked with in her commitment to providing excellent care to patients and creating an environment where others can thrive. Her kindness, work ethic, and unselfish attitude bring so much value to everyone she encounters on a day to day basis. Brick and mortar may keep the rehab unit standing, but Stephanie keeps it running smoothly.

Care Management: Stephanie is a wealth of knowledge, she is our go-to for medical updates, upcoming tests and studies, and recent psycho-social happenings. She almost ALWAYS knows the answer, but if she doesn't, she will let you know and find the answer for you. She is direct while remaining approachable and gracious. We are beyond grateful to have her as a leader on the nursing unit and rehab team.

Nursing: Stephanie is a highly experienced and highly respected nursing leader within Gillette's Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit. Stephanie has a genuine and calming way of approaching the most difficult situations, she can calm a distressed parent or staff member with ease. She is so caring and dedicated to her work on the Rehab unit. She has set the precedent of how a rehab nurse should be. Her knowledge and experience are irreplaceable. Many days she holds the entire inpatient rehab program together, in one way or another. 

Leadership: I can't think of a more timely and heartfelt way to recognize Stephanie as she celebrates her 35th year here at Gillette. Stephanie's continuous and intentional devotion to Gillette is apparent in all she does. Her extraordinary attention to family-focused care, the ability to connect with staff, and priority focus on quality and safety are just a few of her amazing qualities. She possesses the wonderful ability to connect with people on such a genuine and sincere level along with embracing Gillette values in all she does. I'm beyond grateful for Stephanie, thank you for all you do.

Therapists: I so enjoy working with Stephanie. She sets a great example for rehab nursing. She anticipates the needs of families and kids and keeps an ear out for potential problem situations. But she doesn't just say "This is a problem" and let it go, she actively engages in problem-solving to determine a solution. Her professionalism, pleasant manner of interaction, and empathy towards families are apparent in her daily work.
