Stephanie M Hannan 2, RN

I came into the VA Hospital afraid and undernourished by 30lbs. I was not able to have a solid meal for over 2 months due to a partial blockage in my esophagus. The last time I had seen a GP for a check-up was over 12 years ago. From the moment I met Stephanie my fear and anxiety seemed to disappear. Her dedication to the job and willingness to go the extra mile made me feel as though my medical problems were not impossible to overcome. Whenever I had a question or concern, Stephanie took the time to either answer them or find the person who would know.

Because I had a J-Line installed in my lower intestine, Stephanie took extra time to explain the procedures for setting up, using, and cleaning the equipment that would essentially keep me alive and help me gain weight until my main medical problem is taken care of. She was always there with a smile and a positive attitude, and that made all the difference to someone like me, who has a long battle ahead. Stephanie has found a place in my heart.
