I have no other word for this nurse other than "amazing." When my dad required an urgent quadruple heart bypass, we were all shocked, emotional, and nervous about the outcome of such a serious operation. The day of the operation, Dad was moved to Critical Care; this nurse was on duty. She met both my mum and me in the waiting room. She took time out of her busy shift to offer reassurance and support and had genuine care and compassion for her patients.

Nothing really prepares you for seeing a loved one in Critical Care, but this nurse’s professionalism and caring nature were second to none. She was so kind and supportive, she offered reassuring words, explained to us fully what was happening and how dad was progressing, and even a shoulder to cry on. We met Stephanie at what felt like the worst time of our lives, and her care and compassion for not only Dad but also for us as a family were heartwarming.

Stephanie was just amazing, and I am so thankful for all she did, not only for my dad but also for us as a family. She really did go that extra mile. She even came to see Dad on the ward a couple of days later to see how he was getting on. We often talk of Stephanie now as a family, and remember all the things she did for us, even the small things. Dad has now fully recovered, and I genuinely feel that without the likes of Stephanie, it really could have been a different story! Her presence, professionalism, and caring nature are second to none.

Thank you, Stephanie, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
