We all have one person in our lives that from time to time bless us beyond words. I have found that person in Stephanie McCutcheon. She has become "Auntie Steph" to my son whom she has been primary to for over 4 months in the NICU. He has thrived under her care. I rest much more comfortably knowing she is there. All the nurses are wonderful there, but she is our guardian angel and loves him like her own grand kid. I've been told that a grandparent's love is different than a parent's because it finds no fault and just loves and loves more. That's the kind of love Stephanie shows.
While my son was transferred to Sunset Kaiser for a shunt placement, Stephanie texted and continued to encourage and support our family. She has been a rock and a source of extreme knowledge and compassion. When there was a problem, she advocated for my son. She always made sure there was breast milk ready for my son (which is a greater feat than it sounds.) My family that came to visit was amazed by her and how she loved on my son. She would hold him when I had to leave to keep him happy.
I'm crying as I type because God has SO blessed me with my new friend. I'm trying to put into words something that there are no words for. When I saw this application, I immediately thought of Stephanie. If anyone could or would ever deserve this award, it would be Stephanie McCutcheon.
