Stephanie has always encouraged me to believe in my skills and knowledge, while also supporting and encouraging me when I had doubts.
Stephanie is an amazing teacher, nurse, and human being. She connects with students on a personal level, taking a true interest in their lives and experiences, as well as their education. She is constantly striving to improve her own knowledge and experience to be a better teacher and nurse, showing all of her students that learning and growing never ends. She is constantly motivating students to expand their thinking in the classroom, clinical, and in their work, encouraging students to look at patients as the whole person and their circumstances to provide the best care.
In her first lecture to our class, she spoke and promoted Trauma Informed Care, and I knew then that she would be an important figure in my and my classmate's nursing journey. Stephanie is inclusive and intentional with her language in and out of the classroom, showing her deep respect for students and patients. When faced with an unknown, she is open and honest with her students and has always researched and communicated her findings to ensure we have the most current, evidence-based information for our nursing practice. Stephanie has always encouraged me to believe in my skills and knowledge, while also supporting and encouraging me when I had doubts. I truly feel that Stephanie will continue to be an important mentor in my life and I will take her guidance, wisdom, and spirit with me as I continue my nursing practice.
