My son, A, was in the NICU at Houston Methodist West Hospital for six days. On the day we walked out, I saw a sign on the door with your name on it, and I believe it also said, NICU Manager. I texted that name to my husband because I knew down the road I wanted to tell you how incredible one of our nurses was, and I hoped that someday I’d be able to reconnect with her again. Tonight, as I held my baby (4 months old) in my arms, I felt an overwhelming feeling of gratitude and thought about our nurse, Stephanie. I typed in your name and Houston Methodist West NICU, and a Voyager magazine article came up with this email address. I just wanted to let you know that Stephanie was incredibly helpful, caring, educational, thoughtful, and kind. As a young, first-time mom, she gave me so much confidence in the care of my child. Not only did I know he was in good hands with her, but I also knew that she had prepared me to take care of him when we left. I am so grateful for the person that she is, and I pray that she knows how important the work she’s doing is.
