Stephanie truly has a heart for the work she does, and it shows with the families and patients.
"I am Professional" How has the nominee created innovative environments for the achievement of exceptional outcomes while advancing and contributing to the profession?  -

As a coach for Hospice, Stephanie was able to organize staffing and schedules and facilitated communication between Hospice Home and field staff. She enabled the RN staff at the Hospice Home to take on more duties freeing the field staff up to better serve the patients in home.  As a staff nurse presently at the Hospice house, Stephanie remains an advocate for staff and ensures processes (such as EPIC changeover) are understood and that the staff is educated in the essential day-to-day procedures. Stephanie also oversaw and educated staff and remains an advocate for the RNs regarding the new medication reorder procedure and is a go-to for problem-solving with the program.

"I am an Advocate" How has this nominee supported other nurses throughout their nursing career? -

When as a coach, Stephanie would sit down with staff and go over goals and objectives for coming year.  She advocated for staff to become more involved with processes at Hospice house and set up committees among staff members to address improvements to the Hospice home and patient/family interactions.  As a staff member Stephanie has continued this and is herself always finding ways for staff to better interact with families and other departments.

"I am a Partner" How has this nominee partnered with patients, families, customers and colleagues to provide exceptional care and service throughout their career? -

Stephanie is the advocate for staff and the WISE program and also has been the liaison for staff and the Monroe pharmacy for the WISE medication reorder. She set up an EPIC troubleshooting binder for staff with the EPIC turnover.  Stephanie organized and set up a troubleshooting binder for RNs at the Hospice home who are now handling the deaths and paperwork during the night shift.  Stephanie continues to be an advocate for staff and Hospice administration, ensuring that staff are aware and understand and are educated regarding changes the administration makes. Stephanie frequently speaks to families and gives education and comfort to them regarding the stages that the patients are going through.  She spends time with the patients giving support and comfort during active dying.

"I am Accountable" How has this nominee taken accountability for achieving outcomes? -

Stephanie is so humble and does not take credit for all the work she has done, both as a past coach for Hospice and as a staff nurse.  She is greatly respected by the staff for all she has done and continues to do without seeking credit and often without any acknowledgment for all her hard work.  She set the foundation for what she envisioned Hospice and the Hospice House could be and become, and when she was coach, she worked hard to steer in that direction now as a staff nurse, she continues to hold those ideas and goals high, and encourages the staff to do the same.

"I am a Leader" How has this nominee implemented our Mission within their team, their department, their ministry, and the community? -

Stephanie was and continues to be a leader by leading by example.  She was instrumental as a coach in getting the Hospice House more known in the community by setting a high standard and as a result, word of mouth and reputation got improved in the community.  She continues to lead by example as a staff nurse by her caring for patients and families and encouraging all staff to put the patient and families first and encourage them and support them in their journey. You can speak to any staff member or office staff, and they will be able to give you examples of the care and quality that she upheld and a coach and as a staff member.

Stephanie was an exceptional coach for Hospice and the Hospice Home.  She was respected by field staff and staff.  She stepped down and became a staff nurse at the Hospice Home and continued to work for the advancement and reputation of the Hospice Home in the community.  She continues to be the go-to for staff and the advocate for staff and patients with the Hospice administration.  Stephanie truly has a heart for the work she does, and it shows with the families and patients.  To point to just one thing would be difficult as each time she is here she holds the Mission and the care she gives high and does the work without seeking praise.  She has been an asset for the staff and for the organization and for the reputation of the Hospice in the area.
