The daughter-in-law of one of our patients described how Stephanie went above and beyond to make the process for the family so much easier during the loss of their loved one. She was very compassionate during a difficult time; she took the time to sit down and explain things in detail and in a manner in which the family could understand. Stephanie took special care of the patient's daughter who had come in from out of town and had special behavioral needs. The family was unsure how the daughter would handle the situation and when the daughter got loud and upset, Stephanie took control of the situation, spoke with her calmly and calmed her down and "handled it like a champ". She ensured the patient was covered and comfortable and the patient's husband just kept saying "look at how good she is taking care of her. I have never seen a nurse take such great care of a patient and family; It amazed me."
