I am writing to compliment the outstanding nursing care that I received recently while I was a patient at your facility and specifically, I would like to recognize Stephanie Sandoval, my primary nurse.
I was admitted during the early morning hours of Wednesday with complications arising from knee replacement surgery (performed at an unaffiliated facility in another city) - and ultimately learned that I had hepatic encephalopathy. While I cannot personally recall this time, my family confirms that I was treated extremely well by everyone I encountered during my first 24 hours in your care.
Stephanie Sandoval arrived on the morning of Thursday and what a ray of sunshine she was to me as well as a great source of comfort to my very concerned and exhausted family. Any question, request or comment was greeted with a warm, kind and sincere response. We immediately felt at ease in Stephanie's capable hands.
My family had the opportunity to observe Stephanie throughout this first day, both inside and outside my room, and neither her energy level nor her genuine warmth ever waned. Therefore, you can imagine our joy when we learned that Stephanie would be our nurse the next day as well.
During this initial 12-hour relationship' we had come to view Stephanie as a trusted extension of our own family. We all knew that Stephanie was truly vested in my care.
Friday was much like Thursday - every interaction with Stephanie was warm, comforting and reassuring. Once it became clear that I would be discharged late-Friday, we had many more conversations with Stephanie about her family and my own. It was during the course of these conversations that we learned that Stephanie had only graduated in December of 2014! We were so surprised to learn of her short tenure because she carried herself with such authority while conveying such compassion.
Based on my exceptional experience, I have no doubt that Stephanie will have a long and successful career in healthcare. I feel so extremely fortunate to have had Stephanie looking after my care during my recent illness. No doubt you feel the same about having Stephanie in your employ. I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Stephanie and the rest of the Covenant Medical Center team.
