I first started coming to BRMC infusion clinic in 2018. I was assigned to Friday and Nurse Stephanie would help me with warm blankets, lunch, prescriptions and talking with the doctor. About 6 months ago, I had new pain creep in on me. It is mostly in my lower left leg but sometimes it is in both legs. I have a hard time explaining how the pain feels. The pain is in my calves and can be described as vise grips being tightened on my legs just as tight as can be. There are times when the pain is unbearable. It reduces me to tears but sometimes a good cry can help to ease the pain.
I am married and I work full time and I have a house, grandchildren I love, and I cannot keep up with my responsibilities when I am fairly certain it is nerve pain. Well Stephanie listened to me and helped me to talk to the doctor. For starters, I got different pain meds which allowed me some hours in the day pain free. I got to take my granddaughters to the lake. I can sometimes mow my lawn and vacuum my carpet. My job is going better, and I am getting my work done. Stephanie answered my questions even if I call her on the job. Stephanie has been a godsend to me.
