Stephanie treated my son like any other normal patient who was awake and aware. Whenever she came into the room she would talk to my son as if he was awake. She made sure that he was rotated and he was kept clean and dry. When we found out that his daughter's mother was flying from Florida she jumped right on it and shampooed his hair, combed it, and washed his facial hair. She was talking to him while she was doing it telling him, "we have to get you all nice and handsome". The most unbelievable part of her is when we decided to follow through with the organ donation she was an unbelievable assistant to the TC from gift-of-life. After many hours of preparation for the organ donation when it came time to bring my son down to surgery she promised that she was going to stay with him the whole time and not leave his side. Later the next day I found out that Stephanie stayed about 4-6 hours after her shift was over. I was told that she would not leave until she had my son cleaned up properly and presentable and escorted him to the hospital morgue. Finding out that she did more than her job is unbelievable. I will never forget her for what she did many hours after her shift was over when she could have left. She chose to stay and care for my son which means more than words can express.

She is an unbelievable nurse who doesn't just come in every day to do her job, she comes in every day to do her job as if her patients are her own family. She may be a tiny little woman but has a huge heart. I told her if my son was awake he would have been flirting with her the whole time he was there. Stephanie thank you for being you. You will always hold a special place in my heart and never be forgotten.
