My 28-year-old sister had been in a wreck and she was in the ICU. Our family had been pretty lucky to have never experienced something like this before. Our family started to arrive at the hospital scared, emotional, and completely unsure of what was happening and if my sister would even live. Stephanie Wasson immediately stepped in on what was the worst day of our lives as a voice of calmness, love, and understanding. The compassion just poured out of her.
Once we talked to the doctors and were trying to process the medical terms and what that meant, Stephanie took the time to calmly and thoroughly explain what was happening. We were so thankful! Stephanie took amazing care of my sister, treating her like a beloved family member. Stephanie was actually in a similar situation herself a year earlier and because of that held an incredible amount of empathy for our family.
Stephanie even visited us on her days off and would come check on my sister after her shifts were over when we were out of ICU. Stephanie even gave her hard earned money towards my sister's GoFund Me. Even though this was one of the most traumatic days we had such a positive nursing experience. Her kindness and softness towards us will always be cherished. We love Stephanie and are so thankful for her service and love.
