Stephanie Weber Taylor, RN

I came to St. Mike's ER feeling suicidal, anxious, depressed. The ER was the last resort for me; my only other plan was to end my life. After the intake process through the ER, I was admitted to the mental health unit. Even though I have an opioid addiction I came here in search of help with my mental health issues which were new to me. I didn't feel the MD was looking any further than the addiction; I wasn't able to communicate to him my reason for seeking treatment was not my addiction.
Stephanie saw my frustration and listened to me in a way unlike anyone else. Stephanie stepped in as a mediator. She showed me my need for further addiction treatment. She also helped me communicate with the MD to acknowledge my need for psychiatric treatment. Stephanie took the time to read my chart, learn my history and help me realize that further treatment is the best plan for me. This is to recognize Stephanie for going above and beyond and giving me hope.
