Stephanie went above and beyond for me and my son. She was kind and professional and was quick to respond to every need. She truly made our stay unforgettable!

Over the course of our stay, we had the absolute pleasure of having Stephanie as our nurse for several shifts. Her superior technical knowledge, steadfast dedication, and kind heart directly helped us make it through the tough and stressful times we faced while welcoming our first son into the world.
It took my wife and me two years and 1 miscarriage to become pregnant with our son. Going into the birthing and induction process was daunting, to say the least. We first had Stephanie as a nurse towards the end of our induction when things weren't going so well. The baby's heart rate was elevated and Mom was fighting an infection. We were very stressed and emotional. Stephanie stayed with us, reassuring us everything would be okay. She worked tirelessly making sure we were comfortable bringing us anything we needed.
She went even further by sharing stories of personal experiences. This helped us IMMENSELY. She formed a bond with us as our nurse and more importantly, our friend. She became a safe haven for us as someone we trusted and had no shame in asking those "silly" questions. We know that if any situation arose, she would advocate for us.
Lastly, when times got tough, she didn't make things worse by trying to make everything better. Where she excelled was just making herself available. When she wasn't in the room, she was able to show up at the drop of a hat. She was there to listen to our frustrations. She was very good about not telling us how to "fix" things but rather just letting us vent.
With all of this said, I can't think of anyone more deserving of this award than Stephanie. She absolutely went above and beyond what we expected and we couldn't be more appreciative of all that she has done for us.

Stephanie showed excellence and constantly went above and beyond what I expected. When I was concerned about the amount I was bleeding, she dug through the trash to check what I had thrown away. She reassured me that I was okay and that the bleeding was within a normal range. She was empathetic to my concerns the whole visit and super helpful. She showed teamwork when taking time to show me how to do things I would have to do at home. She was very informative and quick to respond to my questions. She also thanked me when I asked for help, showing ownership of my and my family member's needs while we were here. In general, everyone I worked with during my stay was wonderful. A big thanks to the Maternity staff here.

Steph admitted me the day I had my scheduled C-Section. I was all alone and didn't have anyone there to support me or calm my nerves and Steph did everything she could do to make me comfortable and be there for me. She also cared for my son and me later on and was very caring and genuinely nice and friendly as well as VERY helpful! I appreciate her hard work and her open mind about getting information directly from me instead of paying any attention to the hearsay that was floating all around about me and my situation. I will always remember Steph and how amazing she is as a nurse and as a person! Thank you-XOXOXO

I was not surprised to learn of our latest DAISY Honoree. I knew it was only a matter of time before she was recognized. When her colleagues are asked to describe her I hear such traits as engaged, independent, involved, flexible, supportive, reliable, a patient advocate, and fun-loving. During rounds, her patients recognize her for the great care she gives. Her patients describe her as someone who goes above and beyond and that she treats them with the same care, compassion, and attention to detail she would want for her own family. Congratulations Stephanie. You are truly deserving of this recognition.
