My mom was admitted to the ICU, and two days later, we made the tough decision to move my mom from standard care to comfort care. My mom became alert near the dinner hour and when Stephanie heard that my mom was wanting steak and baked potato for dinner (after days of IVs and a future of uncertainty), Stephanie took it upon herself to make my mom's wish come true. She called her husband and had him pick up a steak, veggies, salad, baked potato, and a dinner roll, and he delivered it within 30 minutes. I've never experienced anything like it! I can't even tell the story without tears of gratitude welling up in my eyes. My brother and I will be forever grateful for that special moment Stephanie created for us.
