Nurse Stephanie has consistently demonstrated integrity, excellence, advocacy, and respect towards our veterans during her work on the B2N inpatient psychiatric unit. Recently, Nurse Stephanie was doing her normal rounds on the unit and found a veteran who was in the act of intentional self-harm. She acted quickly to seek help and remained committed to helping the veteran and his medical and psychiatric needs at the time. During his stay, she continued to work with the veteran, advocate for him, and maintain his own integrity in his treatment and healing process.
It was a very stressful situation for staff and other veterans on the unit to process, and Stephanie remained committed to working with respect and excellence during that incident and in the days afterward.
