Stephanie cared for our son after surgery to remove a tumor from his liver (hepatoblastoma). She consistently went above and beyond her required level of caring and responsibility for his health and comfort. She noticed a fever slowly developing, and began checking his vitals herself at regular more frequent intervals. She was in touch with the resident even before his fever reached the threshold to require blood tests and x-ray. Her level of attention to his well-being and comfort was as if it were her own child. The day we were discharged, she checked on him even though she was not his assigned nurse, and cheered him on as he took first steps on his own, her loving care really made a difference in my son's recovery.
