He constantly checked on her, and my family felt comfortable knowing Stephen was there.
Mom is 75 years old with AIDS and CHF. She arrived at VHC very ill, but Stephen put a smile on her face! He was patient with her and handled her like a baby. He was very attentive to her needs and made sure to explain to her how to take her medicine. He never made her wait long when she called for him. He constantly checked on her, and my family felt comfortable knowing Stephen was there. Any time we had questions, he always gave us the best information and was extremely professional and polite.

A lot of staff in the health field still have a stigma about AIDS, and we’ve felt it at other hospitals. Stephen never made Mom feel bad or acted as if he didn’t want to touch her! He showed great compassion and empathy for what Mom was going through. She was in a fight for her life, and Stephen was with her wholeheartedly! I wish I could afford to pay him to come work for Mom at home! We truly appreciate everything Stephen has done to assist Mom and put our family at ease knowing he was with her when we couldn’t be there.
