My mother received care for a stroke. When my mother was not responding, the Rapid Response Unit was notified. They were also great. Steve communicated to me why my mother was not responding and took time to comfort and ease the anxiety I felt. Steve explained "permissive hypertension" to me and encouraged me to advocate for my mother's healthcare. Steve reminded me that it is okay to say something when noticing anything abnormal about my mother's behaviors. The nursing care Steve provided for my mom was top-shelf. My mom recovered well, and the communication Steve provided to both me and my mother about her treatment plan alleviated a lot of unnecessary anxiety. The healthcare profession needs more providers like Steve. Steve's tech that evening was also phenomenal. Her hug was a comfort straight from heaven.
