Steven provided attentive compassionate care to my mother and my family. My mom is a patient on the inpatient Hospice/Oncology Unit. Steven explained his assessments and treatments for my mother. He checked on her often and always asked if we needed anything. He answered all of our questions and concerns in a patient, professional manner. He arranged for us to have coffee during long hours spent with my mother. He said goodbye to us at the end of his shift and said he enjoyed caring for my mother. We were disappointed that he would be off the next day. Steven made a difficult day easier for us. His kindness and care will always be remembered. My mom was still with us when Steven returned to work. At the end of his shift, he asked if he could play a song for us that brought him comfort when he thought of his own deceased mother. He played, "I Can Only Imagine" by Mercy Me on his phone. I was holding my mother's hand and when the song ended my mom took her last breath. It was a beautiful passing, and we were given a gift of divine consolation. Steven is an extraordinary nurse.
